When I was recently invited to the Dorchester Hotel by ASDA Little Angels, I was not only excited to hear about everything that was going on with the brand, but also about getting the chance to see what life was like inside the Dorchester.  Who wouldn’t be, it’s one of the most iconic luxury hotels in London, right.

Hyde Park London

I arrived early in London, and headed straight to Hyde Park Tube Station just brimming with excitement.  After a delightful stroll through the park in the sunshine , I spotted the famous Art Deco hotel across the street.  I ambled towards the entrance taking in all that the exterior had to offer.  It was exactly like I imagined it to be and more.

I found the entrance, and loitered outside in pursuit of the perfect selfie.  Despite having the most gorgeous backdrop the wind was somewhat against me, so it was time to put my best foot forward and speak to the concierge.  He was the perfect Londoner and showed me down to the Dorchester Spa, where the event was going to be taking place.

This was great on one hand, but a missed opportunity on the other.  I was desperate to explore the Dorchester Hotel, as it’s not everyday you get to step inside one of the most famous hotels in the world.  After a short rest and a refreshing glass of rose and cucumber infused water I ventured back up to the lobby to enjoy the hotels opulence as a passing guest.

In the lobby, the most beautiful display of flowers greet you setting very much the scene for what is to come.  I have never seen a display so large or prestinely perfect inside anywhere I have stayed before.  It added a distinctly English charm to this little step back in time I was very much enjoying.

Behind the flowers was the most gorgeous area to take a seat and enjoy your coffee.  The seating was of course leather bound, and surrounded by a luxurious red and gold decor.  With more than it’s fair share of varnished wood, the Dorchester Hotel created the most warm and inviting environment to enjoy the morning paper or a spot of afternoon tea.

Feeling to giddy to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere, I snuck off down the corridor to see what I could find.  The wall displayed glass cabinets displayed gorgeous British made designer items you could purchase near by if you had a few bob to spare.  There was more than one handbag here that caught my eye.

Dorchester Hotel Function Room

I stumbled across the function rooms at the end of the corridor and immediately images of wedding guests and party goers in their finest robes sprung to mind.  Oh to be a fly on the wall here, during the early hours of  heady champagne drinking with only a delicate canopy to soak up the bubbles.  I bet these walls could tell a few tales.

With lots of stories and gorgeous photographs, it felt like it was time to make tracks back to the spa to enjoy an afternoon of relaxation and pure indulgence with some like minded women and my very own glass of champagne.  I could feel very much at home in the Dorchester Hotel if I was able to stay a little longer.

In the Dorchester Spa we chatted babies and blogging washed down with a spot of afternoon tea in the Spatisserie before heading off for a full Swedish massage.  What a luxurious treat for a busy Mum, it was pure heaven.

For a brief time, I was transported into another world at the Dorchester Hotel and very much enjoyed it.  Perhaps next time I visit, I will get to stay a little longer and get to share with you the full experience of life inside the Dorchester.
